This condition is called freezer burn.
However, did you know there is a trick to prevent this from happening?
The top of the container becomes melted since its the most exposed to air.
When you put it back in the freezer, the top layer gets freezer burn.
It is safe to eat but does not taste good.
This trick also works for natural peanut butter.
The less time it has to warm up, the less time it has to melt.
Less melting means less freezer burn.
3 Check your freezers temperature
Your freezer should be at or below 0 degrees Fahrenheit.
